Old Tapes is our clone of the OOP Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport Jr.* delay pedal. It's an analog voiced digital delay designed to have the peculiarities of a vintage tape echo. This pedal has a delay time that ranges from about 30ms to 625ms, and also has a built in EQ/tone control that doubles as a noise filter on longer delay settings. We've also added a momentary "Hold" foot switch that sends the delay into self oscillation for as long as you hold it, and then returns to your original delay time set with the "Cycles" knob.
Available in pink or light blue enclosures.
Knobs and switch descriptions:
Time: Fully counterclockwise is about 30ms up to about 625ms fully clockwise
Cycles: This sets the regeneration of the delay line. Take it from a single repeat fully counterclockwise up to full on self oscillation fully clockwise.
Mix: Adjusts the output volume of the effected signal. Unity is around noon and everything above that boosts the delayed signal louder than the original. This acts as a gain control, so expect the signal to introduce noise/distortion at louder settings.
EQ: Adjusts the tone of the delayed signal. You can use this control as a noise filter for longer delay times by setting it between fully counterclockwise and noon. This will remove any common noise from hyperextending the circuit.
Bypass footswitch: Activates the pedal
Hold footswitch: Sends the signal into momentary self oscillation for as long as you hold the switch.
This pedal has true bypass switching and requires a 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel.
